A Rosary and Funeral Mass for Elvira Franco, 92, were held on Oct. 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a burial at Exeter Cemetery. She died on Oct.19 at Sierra View Hospital in Porterville.

She was born in Mexico on May 17, 1912 to Bonifacio and Cenobia Franco. She came to the Woodlake area with her family at the age of three. She was raised there and in the Lindcove area.

In her early years she worked at E.W. McDonald store in Lindcove area. In 1947, she began a career as a domestic for the Emmett Gill family, later for Lola Frost, and finally with Clorie Gill and family. She was a hard working lady and was known by "Nana" to those who loved her.

She is survived by her niece Maria and husband Louis Rodriguez of Lindcove. Online condolences may be sent to www.smithfamilychapel.com. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith Family Chapel of Exeter.
