John Drnek, born in 1915, passed away Oct. 11 after a long illness.

He and his wife Isabel, who were originally from Indiana, owned and operated Nu-Way Cleaners in Lindsay from 1957 to 1977, after moving to California from Colorado. Four years ago the Drneks relocated to the Los Angeles area to be near their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

While in Lindsay, John was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Optimist Club and Sacred Heart Church. He was an avid fisherman and was active in league bowling for many years.

His services were held on Oct. 14 at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, Calif. and he was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isabel; his daughter, Madeline of Westchester, Calif.; his son, Joe of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and sister, Rose Molnar of Essix Junction, Vt.
