Graveside services were held for Helen Burdge, 86, of Exeter on Jan. 21. She died on Jan. 15 in Visalia. She was a homemaker.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1918 in Indian Territory, Okla. to Sat and Pearl (Lane) Tyree. At the age of two she moved with her family to Exeter, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Exeter High School. She was a licensed vocational nurse at Memorial Hospital in Exeter for several years before her retirement. She was a member of the Exeter Eagles Lodge. She married Joseph Burdge in Carson City, Nevada on July 12, 1980. The couple made their home in Exeter. She was a loving wife, mother, and was a very fun person who put her family and friends needs before hers.

She was preceded in death by her son Floyd Dean; and her daughter, Beverly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Burdge of Exeter; two step-children, Glen Burdge, and wife, Ada, of Concord, and Candie Crites of Oklahoma; one niece, Bonnie Blas of Exeter, who was like a daughter to her; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
