Graveside services for Naomi Lutes, 93, of Woodlake will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2005 at Woodlake District Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-2 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 134 N. Cypress, Woodlake. She passed away peacefully in Citrus Heights, Calif. on Feb. 4, 2005.

She was born on Dec. 24, 1911 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ben and Bertha Hurst. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to Exeter, where she graduated from Exeter High School. She attended Fresno State College before marrying Ray Lutes in 1933. They made their home in Woodlake where they owned and operated Ray's Hardware.

She was a charter member of the Founders' Circle of the Woodlake Garden Club, and a member of the Christian Homemakers' Club. She enjoyed many years of golf as a member of the Visalia Golf and Country Club, winning numerous awards and trophies in various ladie's competitions. She was also a member of the woodlake Saddle Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, sewing, reading, playing the piano, and square and folk dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lutes, in 1986.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Fennel and son-in-law Shelby of Lincoln, Calif.; her grandson, Brian Fennel and granddaughter-in-law Janelle of Granite Bay, Calif.; and two great-grandsons, Nicholas Fennel and Nathan Fennel of Granite Bay, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia.
