Services for Shizuye Margaret Kaku, 84, of San Jose, were held in Lindsay. She died on Feb. 19 in San Jose. She was born on Feb. 7, 1921 in Alameda, Calif. and a 1940 graduate of Hayward High School. She was retired from the Exeter Hospital Dietary Department and was also a member of the Visalia Buddhist Church.

She is survived by one son, Richard Kaku of Anaheim; one daughter, Dorothy (Yosh) Sato of San Jose; two granddaughters, Georgine (Jason) Robison of Fishers, Ind., and Cristine Sato of Los Angeles; one brother-in-law, Harry (Janice) Kaku; three sister-in-laws, Rose Kaku, Yuriko Kaku and Sumiko Hatakeda.

She was the beloved wife of the late Akishi Jack Kaku; loving daughter of the Late Shigeru and Tomo Hatakeda of Hayward. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, George, Howard and Charles Hatakeda.

Richard, Dorothy and family gratefully thank their relatives and friends for their condolences and many kind expressions of sympathies. Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home.
