Born on Oct. 7, 1909, to Carroll and Maude Loyd in Atkins, Ark., Amy left us on June 9, 2005, at age 95 to join her Savior. Amy married Vernon "Bus" Parks on Dec. 10, 1935, and shortly thereafter they moved to Exeter. Amy worked as a licensed vocational nurse in the obstetrics ward at Exeter Memorial Hospital for 28 years. After she retired, Amy became very active in the Farmersville Senior Center as well as the Exeter Church of Christ. Amy also enjoyed quilting and sewing. Preceding Amy in death were her husband of 60 years, Bus Parks; son, Kenneth Parks; her parents, Carroll and Maude Loyd; her five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Parks, and daughter-in-law, Tracy Parks of Exeter; grandson, Kenneth Parks, and his wife, Sierra of Anaheim; granddaughter, Deborah (Parks) Tyner, and her husband, Albert of Blair, Okla.; granddaughter, Cindy (Parks) Boyd, and her husband, Robert of Blair, Okla.; granddaughter, Amy Lurene Parks of Exeter; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Andrew and Reagan Tyner, Alyssa and Cara Boyd, and an expected great-grandson; sister-in-law, Francis Loyd of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private as was Amy's wish. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Exeter Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
