Emmet Gill DeCarteret, 41, of Exeter, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005. He was born in Los Angeles and grew up attending schools in Exeter. He graduated from Exeter Union High School and attended College of the Sequoias where he earned a degree in welding.

Throughout his life, Emmet left many smiles on many faces and so much love in many hearts. In spite of his many struggles through the years with obsessive compulsive disorder, he loved life and held onto his strong faith in God and His Word. Our hearts are broken, but we know he is finally at peace.

He so loved and treasured his niece and nephew, Shey and Cole Ficus; his loving grandmother, Madge Link; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wesley Link; grandparents, Percy and Karolyn DeCarteret; and uncle, Phillip Link.
