A graveside service was held for Marion Maloy, 83, of Lindsay, at the Exeter District Cemetery. She passed away in Visalia on Jan. 18, 2006, after battling a long illness. Marion Junod was born Dec. 1, 1922 in Exeter, to Frank and Ruby Card Junod. She spent her early years living in San Francisco, where she graduated from Polytechnic High School. She later returned to Exeter and there met Robert Maloy. They were married Aug. 5, 1943 in Three Rivers and, after World War II, they began a family in the Exeter area. The family moved to Carson City, Nev. then moved back after a few years, to the Lindsay area where Marion worked at Race and Landers Hardware for 35 years. She was well known and liked throughout the community.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruby Junod; and sister, Bobbie Bennett. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; two sons, James Maloy and wife Linda of Tulare and Patrick Maloy of Lindsay; a daughter, Louise Smith and husband, Larry, of Tulare; six grandchildren, Kerrin Aguiar and Jason Maloy both of Tulare, Ryan Smith of Los Angeles, Amanda Harris of Bellingham, Wash., Kristen Smith and Samantha Smith of Fullerton, Calif.; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. We will all miss her positive outlook on life and her love of family. Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 211 N. Encina, Visalia, CA 93291.
