Jay Marvin Tucker passed away Dec. 5 in Alamo, Calif. Jay was born in Exeter to Jay and Hazel Tucker on June 1, 1925. He went to Lincoln Elementary School and Exeter Union High School. While in school he was active in athletics, music and photography.

Jay immediately entered the U.S. Army after graduating from high school in 1943. He served until the war was over in 1946. After the war he was a realtor in Exeter and Santa Cruz. He was a police officer with the Monterey Police Department. Later he was an Inspector for the Contra Costa District Attorney. Upon retirement he lived in Martinez and devoted much of his time to photography and oil painting.

Jay is survived by his son James Jay Tucker of Berkeley; his sister, Dorothy Tucker Mitchell of Alameda; and his brother Roy Tucker of Arcata.
