Chapel services will be held for Allen Richard Walton, 61, of Farmersville, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, at Evans Miller Exeter Chapel. Burial will be private, at the Exeter District Cemetery. He passed away Feb., 28, 2006, in Farmersville.

Allen was born in Farmersville, to James and Gladys Walton on May 5, 1944. He attended local schools in Farmersville, then graduated from Exeter Union High School in 1962. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Viet Nam. Upon his return, he attended and graduated from College of the Sequoias in Visalia.

Mr. Walton worked for Southern California Edison as a mechanic with their heavy equipment. He married the former Gail Burns in 1995. Mr. Walton has been retired for three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Walton and two brothers; Johnny and Glen Walton.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Walton, of Farmersville; three sons, Allen Walton of Tulare, Jeff and John Burns Jr., both of Farmersville; two daughters, Chalesa Nutt of Farmersville and Lea Shook of Tulare; one brother, Arthur Walton of Visalia; one sister, Joy Howerton of Porterville and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans Miller Exeter Chapel.
