Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, for Mary S. Mendoza of Exeter. She passed away April 6, 2006 at the age of 84 in Tulare. Mary was the daughter of Marin and Francisca (Alatorre) Baiz. She was born on April 8, 1921 in Hanford where she was raised and educated. Mary moved to Exeter in 1941. There she met and married Luis Mendoza in 1948. Mary was employed as a fruit packer for several different packing houses for over 40 years in Tulare County. She was a member and past president of the Alter Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was in the Parish Council; the Guadalupe Society in Farmersville, was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Women's Guild for numerous years and sang in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir for over 50 years. She was Woman of the Year for the church in the 1990's. Mary was an ardent supporter of all religious aspects associated with activities of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and gave of herself to those less fortunate in the community.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, devoted grandmother, and faithful friend who will live in our hearts forever.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Luis of Exeter; one son, Joseph Mendoza and his wife Irma of Sahuarita, Ariz. and their children, Bernadette, Nicole and Andre; one daughter, Jacqueline Rodriguez and her husband Danny of Exeter and their children Tony, Michael and Stephanie; one sister, Nellie Rios of Exeter; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephew, other extended family members and a host of friends.

Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
