La Grande resident, Harry Leo Peterson, 73, passed away, May 28, 2006 at St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash. Mr. Peterson was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Harry and Lilie Mae Nicholson Peterson. Growing up, he attended schools in Visalia and went on to Electronic School in Los Angeles. On June 6, 1957 he and Mary Ford were married in Las Vegas, Nev. They came to the area in 1996 from Oklahoma. He worked with television electronics and then as a supervisor with USA Petroleum Corporation, retiring about 1977. Harry loved to build and sell trikes and often traveled all around with friends from the Third Wheel Trike Association. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Mary of La Grande; two daughters, Susan Moody and husband Howard of Exeter; Janice Peterson of Canada; three sons, Ron Peterson and wife Elaine of Georgetown, Idaho; Randy Peterson of Exeter, and James Peterson of Tulare; three sisters, LaWona Lee of Exeter; Vivian Prater of Wickenberg, Ariz.; and Donna Sue Anderson of Arizona City, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Ronde von Seggem, Brent Peterson, Sierra Peterson, Nikki Moody, and Daniel Moody and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at his request.
