In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services for Robert Grant Haley, 90, who passed away of age related illnesses on Aug. 6, 2006 at his home in Corona del Mar, Calif. His ashes will be scattered at sea. He was born April 15, 1916 in Los Angeles to parents John Otis Haley and Mary Grant Haley. He attended the University of Southern California where he joined the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Throughout his life he was an avid real estate broker and developer in Los Angeles, Ventura and Tulare counties. He was a member of Rancheros Visitadores, Adolfo Camp, and the Ventura County Sheriffs Posse and on the Vestry of Saint Paul's Church in Ventura, Calif. He was proud to have served a term as a Ventura County Supervisor and to have been a founding member of the Board of Directors of Commercial and Farmers National Bank.

He is survived by his wife Martha M. Haley; daughters and sons-in law Andrea and Nelson Pfister of Santa Barbara, and Virginia and James Deane of Sandpoint, Idaho; sons and daughters-in law Robert G. Jr. and Martha Haley of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Roger and Christina Haley of Ventura; stepchildren Candice and her husband Dennis Lawrence of Visalia, Maxine Washburn and her husband Robert of Newport Beach, Raymond Shores of Visalia and Lonnie Shores and his wife Patricia of Santa Ana; grandchildren Eric Pfister and his wife Malia, Marilee Pfister Grossheim and her husband Ron, Bret Haley, Katherine Haley, Brad Haley and his wife Erin, Bryan Haley and his wife Lindsay, Allison Haley, Cody Deane and K.C. Deane; step-grandchildren Melinda Haley, Krystle, Surie, Robert and Derek Shores, three great-grandchildren; and sister Virginia M. Haley of Los Angeles. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
