Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, for Velma McMahon, 83, of Las Vegas, Nev., who passed away Sept. 18, 2006.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1922 in Heyworth, IL. She was a homemaker, and during her life was able to walk the Great Wall of China, kiss the Blarney stone in Ireland, tour Germany, England, Netherlands and visit her son and family in Hawaii with her husband &#8220Mac” McMahon, whom she married April 8, 1941.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Charles and Gertrude Alsman, her husband Noah &#8220Mac” McMahon, sister Dorothy Blevins, brother Merle Alsman and her life long friends Charlie, Ruth and Robert Amadon.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Schmidt, sons Larry and Merle McMahon. She had 6 beautiful granddaugters who were a great joy to her. Jennifer Arias, Bridget Pappas, Sunny McMahon, Brianne Miranda, Megan McMahon and Susan Schmidt. She also had two great-grandchildren, Tiana and Mika. She is also survived by her sisters Ruby Fillapone and Florence Craig and her brother-in-law Bert Blevins.

She will be deeply missed by many but we celebrate her life and caring and gentle ways. Godspeed and be at peace.
