Graveside services were held for Lora Lieuvena Meek, who passed away Oct. 18, 2006 at the age of 92. She was born in Scottsville, Ark. to A.J. and Ellen Meek.

She came to California in the early 1940's with her father and family to work in the fruit and in the local packinghouses in Exeter.

Lora's mother died at a young age and Lora dedicated her life to the care of her younger sisters and brothers and her father. Lora continued to care for her father until he died in Exeter at the age of 84. She had worked for Exeter Citrus for 40 years and also worked at other seasonal local packinghouses.

Lora is preceded in death by her sisters, Alta Martin of Vanderbilt, Texas; Pearl Boyd of Farmersville; Gertha Savage of Exeter and her brothers, Arlie Meek of Visalia and Garland Meek of Bossier City, La.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
