No public services are planned for Alice Jean Batten, 88, who passed away of respiratory arrest on Feb. 7, 2007. Born in Belvidere, Ill., May 17, 1918, Alice had lived in Exeter since 1987. &#8220Mom married the love of her life, Arvil Batten, July 27, 1935 in Brosley, Mo. They were married 61 years. Mom was in electronics, and retired in 1975.”

She was preceded in death by her husband Arvil in 1996, her parents, Richard and Jean Stanley, a daughter, Earlene Nault, two great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson, two sisters, Mae Littlefield and Billie Riggs, one brother, and Ray Stanley.

Alice is survived by one son, five daughters, Arvil Leonard Batten Jr., (Jody) of Morro Bay, Jean Hawkins of Exeter, Arvella Thayer (Lester) of Rio Linda, Jacqueline Mazzotta (Pat), of Vancouver, Wash., Myra Marconette (Larry) of Visalia and Patricia Zook (companion Wally Wicks) of Visalia. 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, three sisters; Pearl Johnson of Wisc., Martha Neville of Ind. and Louise Dare of Ark. and numerous nieces and nephews.
