Church services were held for Ann Mae Taff of Farmersville, who went home to be with her Lord, April 25, 2007, at the age of 86. Ann was born in Hot Springs, Ark., to Jasper and Mattie Johnson, June 21, 1920.

She was raised and educated in Arkansas where she married Rev. Joe Taff in 1943. Moving to the Oxnard, Calif., area in 1945 and settling in Farmersville in 1946 where she raised her family and assisted her husband with their ministry at Eastside Tabernacle Church, which was started in 1960. She was a gospel singer for many years in this area with her sisters, known as the &#8220Johnson Sisters.” Singing the praises of the Lord was so important to her that her son, Russ Taff continued singing and has become an icon in the Gospel Music Industry singing with the Gaithers, a well-known Christian Gospel group.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, who passed away in 1997. One son, Earl who passed away in 2000, as well as one brother Bill and a sister Bertha. Survivors include her sons; Bill, Marvin, and Dan of Farmersville and Russ of Nashville. Sisters; Elsie Boutch, Maudin Heaton and Joyce Womack all of Farmersville, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
