Francis &#8220Buster” P. Mangine

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 4, at Exeter District Cemetery, for Francis &#8220Buster” P. Mangine of Exeter, who passed away April 26, 2007, at the age of 94. Following graveside service, a celebration of life will be held from 3-5 p.m. at The Depot restaurant in Visalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.

He was born in Visalia, Nov. 3, 1912, to Vito and Irene Rinaldi Mangine. He attended schools in Visalia. He met and married Marguerite Terry in Visalia in 1935. They made their home in Exeter, raising two sons there. Mr. Mangine was the founder and owner of Visalia Concrete Pipe until the late 1980's when he sold the business to his son.

Francis was a baseball fan at heart. He actively sponsored Babe Ruth in Exeter and was a member and Past President of the Visalia Baseball Association. He was also Past President of the Western Concrete Pipe Association.

He loved his second home in Aptos and enjoyed his fishing. He belonged to the Sons of Italy Lodge, the Visalia Moose Lodge and the Visalia Elks Lodge.

Francis is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite Mangine. He leaves behind two sons, Ronald Mangine of Visalia and David Mangine of Aptos. Also surviving are four grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Julie and Joe, along with five great-grandchildren. Condolences may be made at [email protected]. Arrangements by Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
