Javier Curiel
1934–2023
Francisco Javier Curiel Sr. was born on Oct. 10, 1934. He was a longtime resident of Lindsay, Calif. Where he married and raised his family. Since the age of 11, Javier spent his entire life working as a migrant farm worker which he truly loved. Even up until his last days, Javier was still sought after for his wisdom and knowledge in the agricultural field.
Javier didn’t have many hobbies. If he wasn’t tending to the fields he was spending time with family or at the casino (And not always in that order!).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Salvadora Curiel, his wife Lupita Curiel, his son Francisco Javier Curiel Jr., his brother Marciano Curiel and sister Concha Curiel. He is survived by his daughter Patty Vilhauer and son in law Vern Vilhauer, daughter in law Juanita Curiel; five grandchildren, Jeñe Rodriguez, Francisco Javier Curiel III (Harvey) Paul Vilhauer, Angel Maldonado, and Jacob Vilhauer; five great grandchildren; sister Elvira Ochoa and brother Jose Curiel Jr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his in-laws, the Morales family, who he loved and viewed as his own.
