Stella Burciaga Rojas

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, beloved wife and mother, Stella Burciaga Rojas, left to be with the Lord at 61 years old.

Stella Burciaga Rojas

Stella will always be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Edward Rojas; and their children, Marina and Eddie Jr.; by her siblings, Ramiro Burciaga (and his wife Theresa), Robert Burciaga (and his wife Birdie), Richard Burciaga, and Raquel Burciaga Austen (and husband Frank Austen). She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, Alene, Valerie, Karina, Aisha; and her nephews, Josh, Bobby, Jordan, Dino, and Jonathan. She was met in heaven by her parents, Solomon Burciaga and Lorenza Murillio Burciaga; sister Rebecca Burciaga; and niece Sonia Cooper.

Stella was born June 10, 1963, in Los Angeles, Calif. Her family moved to Tulare, Calif., where she attended Wilson Elementary, Cherry Avenue Middle School, and Tulare Union High. Later, she moved to Azusa, Calif., where she became a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Her love of helping others and seeing people being cared for when no one else would care for them, fueled her passion in being a CNA.

Then, one night in Baldwin Park, she met someone who would change everything, her husband, Edward. They married March 1, 1985, and then a year later, Marina arrived and in 1990, Eddie Jr.

She loved her family and showed them how to be a person of faith, love, and compassion. Stella loved spending time with her children and husband, either at church, home, seeing new movies at Galaxy Theater, attending concerts at the Visalia Fox, traveling to Universal Studios, the coast, and more. Her creativity was a gift, and she enjoyed using it to bless others, if you knew her well enough, you have a beautiful wreath in your home or office, received some of her delicious baked goods, savory salsa or even tamales!

Family meant the world to Stella, her siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews were always in her daily prayers. Her laugh was infectious, and she loved to use it. The goal she had in all interactions with people, was to tell them God loves them, they were special, and had a purpose. She lived a life of purpose, and everyone would all be so blessed to do the same.

In 2022 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and she fought like a true warrior until the day Jesus called her home.

A celebration of life took place on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 9 a.m., at Prosperity Avenue Baptist Church. The burial took place at 10:30 a.m. at Tulare Public Cemetery North, 4572 J St., Tulare, CA 93274. A reception followed immediately at the church. Flowers may be sent to: Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277.
