Richard Garcia, 94, of Farmersville passed away June 24, 2024, due to natural causes. He was born in Imperial County, Calif. to parents Gabino and Beatrice Garcia. He was the oldest of five children. Richard grew up on a ranch outside Calexico, Calif. where his father worked. He worked at a grocery store during high school before joining the Army. He was stationed in Fort Ord, Calif. before serving in the Korean War. Richard moved the family to Tulare County in the late 1950s. He worked for Edwards Turkey Hatchery and Baker Walnut Dehydrator for many years before retirement. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Rudy and sister Rachel, his wife Stella Garcia and daughters Martha Flores and Becky Baker. He is survived by his children, Irene Gutierrez, Richard Garcia, Jr., Nellie Willoughby, Liz Becerra, Rosie Ramber and Rudy Garcia. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Richard loved his 49ers, San Francisco Giants and watching his westerns. He will be missed by his family and friends. Graveside services will be Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Exeter District Cemetery. Reception will follow at Exeter Eagles Lodge.
