And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

We can become consumed by thoughts of bitterness, and focus on the negative. Be careful because the way we think will eventually come out through our actions.
Jesus calls us to be “Peacemakers.” Matt. 5:9 “Blessed are peacemakers.” He’s talking about the person that is slow to speak and quick to listen, with a gentle spirit. They exemplify the fruit of the Spirit in their life. They have great discernment. They just walk into a room and it changes.
I spent eight years in college, getting a formal education, ending with a Ph.D. My doctorate thesis was about The Testament Church. But my wife taught me what a practical Christian is, and how they live.
My wife’s the neatest Christian I know. She’s just awesome. For 18 years she has been helping kids with their home work after school for Lindsay school district. She was a waitress at the Country Waffle restaurant in Lindsay almost 30 years. Next to Jesus she’s my role model. I want to be like her. She gets up in a good mood most of the time. She’s a peacemaker. She’s a bridge builder. She walks unto a room if the conversation is real negative and sarcastic, it will change automatically. She’s that kind of person. You don’t want to talk this way in the presence of Jesus, because that’s what she looks like. Blessed when your like that.
There are two kinds of people. There’s a thermometer and a thermostat. Now what’s a thermometer do? It adjust to the climate of the room. What’s a thermostat do? It sets the climate of the room. Jesus is saying blessed are thermostats. Blessed are the ones that can walk into any situation and just change that climate because they’re so full of God.
