The Lindsay Cardinals knew going in that they would have to stop the running game of Dos Palos to have a chance to upset the No. 1 seed.
They didn't.
Dos Palos' physical running game ran over the No. 8 seed Cardinals on Friday. They ran for five touchdowns and 251 yards in the game and scored their only other touchdown on an interception return in the second quarter. Dos Palos won the game 41-14.
Lindsay quarterback Abel Gamboa got the Cardinals on the board with a two-yard touchdown pass to Pablo Rios and scored the Cardinals final touchdown on a 19-yard connection to Modesto Marquez.
Lindsay was limited to 112 passing yards and just 69 on the ground.
