Spring back in Monarchs step

By Tom Price Jr.

In the semi-final game of the consolation championship of the Polly Wilhelmsen Tournament, the Exeter Monarchs boy's basketball team blew out Granite Hills 68-47.

With the win Exeter advances to the finals against East Sequoia League rival Dinuba.

The once troubled Exeter squad who lost seven of 10 games heading into the showdown with Granite Hills, showed signs that the rust has worn. The Monarchs had seven first-half three pointers and shot 20 second quarter points.

"I can't imagine us shooting any better than that," Exeter coach Jim Mitchell said. "This team is capable of that, I have been saying that all along."
