The Exeter Monarchs girls soccer team derailed Woodlake’s high powered offense but failed to score in a 1-0 loss on Thursday.

The Monarchs cut off passing lanes and managed to keep the Tigers speedy forwards in front of them, not allowing a direct shot on goal until late in the game when Antoinete Cardenas scored on an assist from Amanda Compos.

The Monarchs had few opportunities to score in the game with Woodlake controlling the midfield. However, the usually high powered Tigers were taken out of their game.
