Two games into East Sequoia League play, the Lindsay Cardinals girls basketball team has hit a landmark with a 52-35 win over Dinuba on Friday and a win over Orosi earlier in the week.

This time last year they were working on their fourth victory. This year they have 10 wins and a 2-0 start in league play.

The Cardinals faced little adversity against Dinuba who struggled against the intense pressure put on by Lindsay's defense.

At times the Cardinals' offense was as impressive as their defense. Raquel Chairez was able to penetrate the Emperors defense off the dribble, setting up easy jumpers and kick-out passes for shots from the corner.

Chairez scored a team high 23 points and was forced to contend with an box-and-one defense designed to take her out of the game.

Dinuba had one person shadow her the entire fourth quarter while the rest of the team played a 2-2 zone.
