Lindsay boys basketball coach Don Perales says not giving up is the trademark of Lindsay basketball.

The Cardinals character will be tested this week when they try to shake off a three-game losing streak with home games against Dinuba and Woodlake. At this point in the season, wins equal playoff positions and the Cardinals are in a fierce battle

"We take it one game at a time and the kids keep fighting and never give up," Perales said.

"We might be frustrated but were not giving up."

They are coming off a 62-57 loss to Corcoran on Tuesday and a 56-46 loss to Orosi on Friday.

Against Orosi, Lindsay could not overcome a poor shooting night in which they shot 32 percent from the field and hit just two-of-14 three point attempts.

Cardinal center Abel Gamboa scored a team high nine points to go along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

John Gonzalez and Pablo Rios each added eight points in the loss.

The lone bright spot was that they held last year's ESL Most Valuable Player, Frankie Manquero, to under 20 points.
