Lindsay High Schools Cardinal of the week is sophomore and first-year varsity basketball payer Abel Gamboa.
Gamboa helped lead the Cardinals to victory in their game against Parlier with exceptional free throw shooting. He was 8/8 from the line.
As a free throw shooter, Abel is second on the team, shooting 44-of-66 or 67 percent. He has scored 180 points. He is second on the team in rebounding with 185 rebounds and second in steals with 61 steals. He has the highest performance rating, 237, showing his consistency throughout the year.
Gamboa is the Cardinals tallest player at 6 foot, 2 inches and he plays the forward position inside. He played excellent defense all year against much taller opponents. He was selected Honorable Mention All East Sequoia League in his rookie season.
