Swimmer Elijah Cartagena was named Cardinal of the Week for her performance against Wasco on Feb. 27.
He placed second in the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. His times in both races were personal bests swimming a 2:46.90 in the 200 freestyle and 1:25.06 in the 100 backstroke.
This was the first meet of the year and Cartagena has already topped his times from last year.
His goal is to place in league and qualify for Divisionals and Valley.
