At a preseason meet at Granite Hills on Friday Lindsay swimmers Brittnay Shaw and Steven Ingoldsby each took steps toward qualifying for the Valley meet.
Shaw took first in the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 26.94 seconds and in the 100 meter breast stroke with a time of 1:17.45. Both times giver her consideration for Valley qualification.
Ingoldsby on the other hand has already qualified and posted wins in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.78 and in the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 52.43.
"I am really happy for Nichole and Steven for qualifying," Lindsay coach Brandi Tienken said. "They are part of the best team I have had in a few years."
Brittnay Phipps posted a personal best 6:56.45 in the 500 freestyle good enough for third place. Jordan Blue dropped his personal best seven seconds in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:21.28.
The Cardinals will be back in the pool this weekend at the Monache Invitational.
