Monarchs swim past shorthanded Cavaliers

The Exeter Monarchs boys swim team, competed against a near non-existent Central Valley Christian team that had only two swimmers on April 16.

The lopsided score of 130-14 in favor of Exeter was irrelevant, but the season best times that Exeter swimmers posted were eye opening.

Arron Jones posted a season best time of 2:20.95 in the 200-yard individual medley for a first place finish for Exeter and did it again in the 500-yard freestyle with a first place finish and a time of 5:45.04.

Jones wasn't the only one setting personal bests, Daniel Munsch did it in a first place effort in the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.90) and Brad Garver did it in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.78). Dustin Mitchell also posted a season best in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.18.

Exeter will be back in action on Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Lindsay for an East Sequoia League meet.
