The best boys and girls swimmers from the Sequoia and Sierra Divisions converged Saturday at the Sierra-Sequoia Division Championships at the Crandal Swimming Complex in Kingsburg.
For the Lindsay boys who finished in eighth behind winner Kingsburg, it was an opportunity for some of their individual swimmers to test their mettle against some of the top swimmers in the area. The Cardinal's Steven Ingoldsby took full advantage of the opportunity producing a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (51.27) and an eighth place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.32).
Justin Morillo made the best of his shot in the 100-yard butterfly finishing fifth out of 22 swimmers with a time of 1:01.30.
Alec Blue added an 11th place finish in the 200-yard individual medley and a ninth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
The boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Alec Blue, Jordan Blue, Ingoldsby and Morillo finished seventh out of 14 schools.
For the girls Nicole Shaw led the way with a third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.36) and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.40.
