Cubs win Majors

After winning both halves of the Little League season, the Cubs continued their winning ways in the playoffs by first defeating the Dodgers and then the Mariners.

But give the Dodgers credit, they took the Cubs to extra innings before falling 4-3. The game was a classic pitchers duel between the Cubs' Lance VanGrouw and Dodgers' ace Chase Madden.

In the City Championship game the Cubs met the Mariners. The Mariners had defeated the Giants 7-5 in the first round of the playoff tournament.

But the Cubs proved too tough and completed their quest for a championship with a 5-2 win. The Cubs won the championship on the pitching of Garrett Dunn and the hitting of Jesus Marquez.
