As an amateur boxer Santiago Rodriguez had done just about everything imaginable.
In 10 years the Farmersville product won 19 fights while losing 14, he fought in Tahiti and Oregon as a member of the USA World Boxing Team and he served as a boxer representative to the USA Boxing Council.
So at the age of 33 with just a year left of amateur eligibility he did all that was left to do
