On a day filled with closely contested events Lyndsi Ibarra snatched two first place finishes for the Lindsay Skimmers swim team against Dinuba on June 24.

Ibarra, competing in the 9- to 10-year-old age group edged Nichole Leyendekker from Dinuba by .49 seconds posting a time of 17.19 seconds in the 25-yard freestyle. She later snuck by teammate Lindsay Blue with a first place time of 19.64 in the 25-yard butterfly. She also made her presence felt on the relay teams with Mercedes Gomez, Kennedy Blue and Lindsay Blue that finished on top in the 100-yard medley relay and in the 100-yard freestyle relay.

Gomez added a first place finish in the 25-yard backstroke with a time of 20.35, a full three seconds faster than her closest opponent.

In the 11- to 12-year-old age group Chelsea Arroyo battled with Dinuba's best all day long and finished with a first place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (36.76) and second place finishes in the 100-yard individual medley (1:21.59) and in the 50-yard butterfly (34.91). The relay team of Rachel Coles, Katie Shaw, Andreinna Pena and Arroyo teamed up for second place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay (2:35.54) and in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:25.63).

Jordan Morrillo barely edged Dinuba's Ashley Garispe in the 13- to 14-year-old girls 50-yard backstroke with a time of 32.19 and Nichole Shaw was equally impressive beating Shannon Rager of Dinbua in the 15- to 18-year-old girls 50-yard breast stroke with a time of 35.01.

Boys

Wesley Coles led the boys 9-to 10-year-old swimmers with a first place finish in the 100-yard individual medley. He posted a time of 1:27.24 a full two seconds faster than Matthew Peterson from Dinuba. Coles also finished second in the 25-yard backstroke (19.48) and in the 25-yard freestyle (15.52).

In the boys 11- to 12-year-old division AJ Reid made his mark with a first place time of 1:20.47 in the 100-yard individual medley and another first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (32.33). He also beat out teammate Ryan Fultz to win the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 36.92. Fultz also had a first place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (41.57).
