Skimmers strong at TNT meet

Chelsea and Jamie Arroyo made a big splash on July 10, at the TNT Invitational.

One of the most competitive meets in the Central Valley Recreation Swim League's schedule, Jamie Arroyo posted wins in the boys 8-and-under 25-yard butterfly (22.01) and the 25-yard backstroke (20.58). He also had a second place finish in the 25-yard breaststroke.

Chelsea Aroyo took the top spot in the girls 11 to 12-year-old backstroke with a time of 35.18 and had a second place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (33.83) just .5 seconds off the top pace. She also added a fourth place finish in the 100-yard IM1:21.5.

In the 9 to 10-year-old boys division, Robie Reid had a first place finish in the 100-yard IM and a second place finish in the 25-yard freestyle (16.39). AJ Reid added a second place finish in the 11 to12-year-old boys 10 0yard IM with a time of 1:16.09 and in the 50-yard backstroke (32.89).

Other Skimmers that competed at the meet were Carina Mora, Jose Mora, Alexandria Lupio and Valerie Esparza.

Skimmers vs. Visalia Seahawks

The Skimmers were also in action on July 1 against the Visalia Seahawks Alec Blue and Justin Morillo each posted individual wins to go along with their relay win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Blue won the 50-yard butterfly for the boys 15 to18-year-old division with a time of 29.17. The time qualified him for the time trials in Hanford on July 17.

Morillo took the top spot in the 15 to 18-year-old 50-yard breaststroke (33.16) and also qualified for the trials.

Morillo and Blue teamed up with Enrique Gomez and Jordan Blue to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.36.

Other winners for Lindsay were Wesley Coles in the 9 to 10-year-old 25-yard breaststroke (22.47) and in the 25-yard butterfly (16.18).

Stevi Ibarra was strong for the girls winning the 13 to 14-year-old 50-yard butterfly (33.75) and the 50-yard freestyle (29.77).

Rebecca Gomez added a win for the girls in the 8-and-under division winning the 25-yard freestyle with a time of 20.02.
