Robertson gets first win with triple-A Trappers

Exeter native Jeriome Robertson grabbed his first win of the year with the Edmonton Trappers on Aug. 19.

The southpaw went 6.5 innings giving up five runs on 10 hits in the 18-5 route of the Salt Lake City Stingers, a triple-A affiliate of the Anaheim Angels. Thanks to a 16-4 lead Robertson was able to weather the rocky start to give the Montreal Expos triple-A affiliate a win.

Robertson did not fare as well in his next outing as he gave up six runs in six innings against the Tucson Sidewinders on Aug. 24. Robertson was credited with a 7-4 loss in Tucson for his second loss of the season with Edmonton. Tucson is triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Robertson turned in his best pitching performance of the year holding the Salt Lake Stingers to just two runs in six innings on Aug. 29. But the Trappers could only manage one run in the 3-1 home loss. Robertson also stuck out seven in the effort.

Robertson is 1-3 in six games for the Trappers this season. He has struck out 19, walked 10 and has an ERA of 5.79. As of press time, the Trappers were 66-70 and in third place in the Northern Division of the Pacific Coast League.
