Like the majority of the players on the LHS tennis team, juniors Yadira Leon and DeDe Lopez are overextended in the area of extra-curricular activities.

But lucky for the Cardinals, the two have stuck with their tennis game. It seems they've found their niche. The two serve as the No. 1 doubles team for LHS and on Thursday they once again proved their worth.

In a competition that left little room for Cardinal victory, Leon and Lopez kept the Dinuba Emporers dreaming of a shut out. In their first round of play, the pair brought down Dinuba's No. 2 in a victorious 6-2 win.

Next Leon and Lopez faced an even less threatening challenge when they defeated the Emporers No. 3, 6-1.

Finally, the two met their toughest pair on the court. Dinuba's Leslie Murillo and Rosio Barriga with their No. 1 status seemed to bring no competition to the court as they fell 2-6 to the Cardinals in the final round of play.

The entire team did not put on as successful a showing though and the only other win of the night came from No. 1 singles player Ivet Soria. She found victory over Dinuba's Annie Yan in a second round match that ended 6-3.

The competition ended in a disappointing 4-14 loss for Lindsay.

The Cardinals showing against the Monarchs on Oct. 5 also failed to produce a win.

The Monarchs hosted the Cardinals in a 15-3 competition. The only Lindsay wins came from Leon, Lopez, Ivet Soria and Nicole Schiro. Leon and Lopez found two wins in their first and last matches, 6-4 and 7-5.

Lindsay's No. 2 doubles, Soria and Schiro took a victory over the Monarch's No. 3 pair of Garkay Wong and Samantha Sario, 6-4 in their first match putting the game at 15-3.
