Second year varsity football player Anthony Gonzalez, led the Cardinals 48-point offensive explosion with three touchdowns for their first league victory over Corcoran.

His first TD came in the third quarter sweeping the left side for six yards. He scored again in the third quarter with another sweep around the left side from five yards. His last TD came in the fourth quarter powering up the middle for 12 yards.

Anthony had 10 carries for 132 yards averaging 13.2 yards. Most of that yardage came by breaking tackles with second and third efforts. He also caught two passes for 15 yards. Anthony also is a team captain and starts on defense at the right outside linebacker.

Anthony is a versatile back. Currently, he has rushed 48 times for 405 yards. He has an 8.4 yards rushing average. He has also caught 36 passing for 305 yards. His receiving average is 8.5 yards. He has scored five touchdowns. Last year, he played tight end and this year he has made an excellent transition to running back.
