Lindsay High School Cardinal of the Week

Junior first year football player Alex Macias was named Cardinal of the Week after the season closer at Kerman on Nov. 19.

Alex, from his wide receiver position, had four pass receptions for 20 yards and two touchdowns. He plays both ways. On defense, he had seven tackles from his linebacker position.

Alex's first touchdown came on Lindsay's first drive of the game. He came out of the backfield for a 3-yard pass to give lindsay a 6-0 lead. His second Touchdown came just before half-time on a 14-yard pass from his wide receiver position. That tied the score at 20-20 and the extra point sent Lindsay into the locker room with a half-time lead.

Alex is very versatile and has played running back when needed. He has 26 receptions for the year for 300 yards and five touchdowns. On defense he is the third leading tackler with 66 tackles and two interceptions. He has been another of Lindsay's "Iron Men," not leaving the field. He is going to play a major part in next year's team.
