In four games throughout the valley, the East Sequoia League will open play on Jan. 5 pitting eight division three and four teams against each other.

This season, all but one team in the league has a winning record as they enter league play.

Dinuba trails with a record of 2-10-0 after preseason appearances at both the Kingsburg tournament and the Tulare Union Invitational.

The Emperors lost games to the likes of Golden West and Bullard and opened the Polly Wilhelmsen Tournament in a contest against Central Valley Christian.

Dinuba's only two wins have come over Fresno and McLane.

Aside from the fallen Emperors, the boys teams are coming into league play on an even playing field.

After nine games, Immanuel is showing the best record with 8-1-0. Immanuel picked up several wins as the hosts of the Immanuel Holiday Invitational. In their four-game tournament winning streak, the Eagles dominated Riverdale, Parlier and Sierra by overwhelming numbers. They faced league competition in the championship game of the tournament. They came out on top over Lindsay 54-39.

The loss served as Lindsay's second. Their first loss came by way of Sierra at the Parlier tournament early in the month. With a 9-2-0 record, the Cardinals are averaging 53.3 points per game and are dominating the arc with three-point shooter Johnny Gonzalez on their side. Eleven games into the season, he boasts 31 treys and a total 194 points. He edges out Orosi's Frankie Manquero as the leagues top outside shooter.

Orosi's 7-2 record is taunting Lindsay's.

In 11 contests, Lindsay has seen play against CVC, Kings Christian and Strathmore.

On a similar schedule, Orosi has seen losses to both CVC and Corcoran.

The Corcoran Panthers (7-3-0) are still just a hint below the Exeter Monarchs record (5-2-0). Corcoran has already fallen to league competitor Lindsay and fallen to Orosi in tournament play.

The Monarchs have faced one East Sequoia league team. They took a 33-34 loss to Coalinga in the championship game of the Kerman Tournament.

Lindsay kicks off league on Jan. 5 at Coalinga.
