Lindsay prepares for third league showing

The Cardinals faced the Coalinga Horned Toads for the first league match-up of the season.

The boys and girls swimmers both had top swimmers in each event.

The contest started off with the girls medley relay where Lindsay's Kadi Jones, McKenzie Blue, Heather Baker and Felicia Centeno took second place with 2:37.89.

Later in the meet, another Lindsay relay took third place in the girls 200-yard freestyle relay. Jones, Blue, Elizabeth Souza and Baker finished the race in 2:24.57.

Individually, Lindsay's Baker did well, swimming to second place finishes in the 200 individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle.

McKenzie Blue brought in a second place finish for the girls in the 100-yard freestyle. She finished in 1:24.56.

Kadi Jones was the sole first place finisher for Lindsay in the girls events.

Jones finished the 100-yard back stroke in the lead at 1:26.70.

The boys churned out a few more first places than the ladies. They started off the meet with a first place finished in the medley relay with a time of 2:11.30.

Eli Cartagena, Beau Blue, Alec Blue and Chris Figueroa made up the winning team.

Cartagena racked up another first place for the Cardinals in the 200-yard freestyle race. He finished in 2:41.45.

Alec Blue finished first in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:35 even.

The boys took another relay win with Beau Blue, Cartagena, Figueroa and Alec Blue finishing the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:53.98 for first place.

Alec Blue came in first again the 100-yard backstroke while his cousin Beau Blue finished first in the 100-yard breast stroke event. Alec finished his race in 1:11.26 while Beau came in at 1:59.72.

For their third league meet, the Cardinals will host Visalia's Central Valley Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1.
