Exeter halts Lindsay's perfect season

By Andrea Camarena

Lindsay boys swimming was riding the wave to a perfect season when they traveled to Exeter for their fifth league meet last Friday.

The Monarchs knocked them off their win streak taking the meet 103-57 in their home pool. The meet tied the teams' league records 4-1.

The lady Monarchs took an even bigger lead over the Cardinals to win the meet 141-35. The win kept the Exeter girls swimming towards a league title with a 5-0 record.

Much like the boys, the Exeter girls nearly lost their perfect season when they faced Immanuel in a tight 101-79 competition. Monarch swimmers won the meet by scoring personal best times across the board to nudge ahead of the Eagles' experienced swim program.

Against Lindsay, the Monarchs shut down the Cardinals by taking first in every event of the meet. Exeter also put four divers on the board to sweep the diving competition.

The Monarchs will travel to Visalia on Friday for their next league match against CVC while Lindsay travels to Dinuba.

The Tigers will travel to Corcoran on Friday for their sixth league meet.
