The Exeter Babe Ruth 15 year old All Stars defeated the Lemoore All-Stars Thursday night at Lion's Stadium 11-1.

The game was Exeter's first in this year's All-Star tournament. Exeter hosted the 15-year-old tournament at Lion's Stadium through Tuesday night.

Exeter pounded out 14 hits including 4 doubles. Jonathan Phillips led the way, going 4 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI. Patrick Hutchenson was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Will Brown and Fernando Chavez were both 2 for 4. Lucas Pernu had a booming double. Isidro Ibarra Jr. and Travis Arroyo each added singles.

The winning pitcher was Will Brown who toiled all 7 innings allowing 5 hits, 8 strikeouts and no walks on 83 pitches. Brown was aided by some sparkling defense by Fernando Chavez and Isidro Ibarra Jr. who gunned a runner down at the plate following a difficult catch in center field.

The team went on to win their second game on Friday night against Corcoran, 14-8.

The win advanced Exeter to the championship game on Tuesday night. Scores were not available at press time.

Exeter's 13-year-old All-Star team traveled to Corcoran on Thursday night for the Babe Ruth tournament where they defeated Corocran in their first game, 13-3. The team followed it up with a 12-2 win over Pixley.

In the 14-year-old division, Exeter lost two games in a row to eliminate them from the tournament in Lemoore. In their tournament opener, Lemoore dominated Exeter, 12-6. Exeter fell again in their contest against Dinuba, 10-7.
