Exeter girls basketball continued on their four-game win streak last week with victories over Immanuel and Coalinga.

With home court advantage, the Monarchs opened the week with a 53-38 win over the Eagles. Exeter started strong scoring 24 points in the first quarter while holding Immanuel to 9.

Monarchs top scorer Tiffany Marinos led the squad with 13 points.

In the second quarter, Exeter kept ahead scoring 14 more points and leading 38-16 at the half.

The Eagles came back to the game with fresh shooting and outscored the Monarchs 13-9 in the third. Jessica Smith led the Immanuel offense scoring a total of 16 points. Smith and the Eagles outscored the Monarchs again in the final quarter holding Exeter to just 6 points. But Immanuel's 9-point fourth quarter wasn't enough to catch up to Exeter's lead and the Monarchs tacked another win onto their perfect league record.

Other Exeter leaders for the night included sophomore Abby Bloetscher with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior Amanda Morgan scored 7 points, had four rebounds and made a single assist for the night.

Two nights later, the Monarchs captured their second victory of the week, bulldozing over Coalinga by a score of 29-73. Exeter outscored the Toads in every quarter behind the lead of Bloetscher. The sophomore scored 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the night.

Senior Jody Williamson had an impressive night as well with 16 points and five assists.

Marinos earned 10 points, seven rebounds and one assist for the Monarchs.

Morgan had 9 points and three rebounds against the Toads.
