The Monarchs fell to 2-5 in a league matchup against Immanuel. Exeter gave up 302 yards in total offense on their way to a 17-12 loss.

Cameron Loeffler's 80 rushing yards and Sam Garver's 84 passing yards led Exeter's offense but wasn't enough as Immanuel's Josh Fixel carried 25 times for 126 yards.

The Monarchs trailed 10-0 late in the first half but battled back when Chris Parker's 50-yard reception set up Loeffler for a 2-yard touchdown run. A missed extra point left the score 10-6 at halftime.

Exeter took advantage of the momentum scoring on their first drive of the second half as Vince Pascoe scored from 3 yards out.

Immanuel quarterback Bobby Hines connected with Micah Hiett on a 34-yard pass with 3:20 left in the third quarter for the final score of the night.

Both defenders were solid in the fourth quarter as Exeter's comeback attempts were denied. Parker led the Monarchs in receiving with 90 yards. He also led the defense in tackles with seven. Wilson and Schmidt had five tackles each.

The Monarchs spent a lot of time moving in the wrong direction with seven penalties for 81 yards.

Pascoe would also add 20 rushing yards in the losing effort.

The Monarchs were only one for six on third down conversions and failed on their only two fourth down attempts.

Immanuel improved their record to 4-3 while Exeter looks to rebound next week when they host Kingsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 for Senior Night.
