Lindsay, Woodlake neck and neck at ESL Tournament

Central Valley Christian held this year's East Sequoia League boys golf meet on May 1 at the Valley Oaks Golf Course. The Cavalier's Jordan McIntosh earned the low medal title with his score, 80.

The mild weather helped Lindsay's golfers give their best performances of the season, earning four area qualifying scores.

Lindsay's Matt Salinas, Jordan Markham, David Solis and Joseph Hernandez all qualified for the Area Tournament at the Sherwood Forest Golf Course on Tuesday, May 8.

CVC won the league tournament with a team score of 409. Woodlake took second, scoring 462 points. The Lindsay Cardinals finished in third with 463 points while Orosi took fourth with 534 points.

Lindsay's No. 4 golfer, Matt Salinas shot a career best 88, seven strokes under his average to take ninth place with four pars and a birdie.

Jordan Markham, Lindsay's No. 2 golfer, tied for 10th place with No. 3 David Solis and No. 5 Joseph Hernandez. All three scored 90. Markham shot 13 strokes under his average with three pars. Solis was 14 strokes under his average and had three pars in his career-best performance. Hernandez was 22 strokes under his average with four pars.

Lindsay's No. 1 golfer, Jordan Blue tied for 19th place, shooting 105. He had two pars and shot two strokes over his average.

Seth Townsend gave a career-best, non-scoring 109-stroke performance for Lindsay. He was 11 strokes under his average. First-time golfer, Michael Schlaepfer shot a non-scoring 112 with one par.
