EXETER – Youth football has been played in the town of Exeter since 1969, and this Saturday, Nov. 17, they will host a slate of championship games at Monarch Stadium.

The All Valley Youth Football Organization voted to have Exeter be the site of this season’s championship games based on the venue’s continued success as a host over the years. Exeter’s senior team head coach Steve Lentz has been part of that success. When he was the coach of the juniors, Lentz took them to back-to-back Division II runner-up finishes. Then, in his first year as the senior’s head coach, he has put them in position to win a title for the first time in the program’s history.
Exeter will be represented by both their senior and junior teams. The top-seeded Exeter Monarchs will have the chance to capture their first title in front of their home crowd at 6 p.m. when they take on the second-seeded Farmersville Aztecs.
“Farmersville is going to give us everything they have and now we must play our best game of the year,” Lentz said.

Exeter’s junior team has also made the finals and will play on Saturday in the Division II game against the second-seeded Tulare Bulldogs at 2 p.m.

The action begins at 8 a.m. with the Bantams championship game against the Lemoore Li’l Bengals and the Dinuba Trojans. At 10 a.m., the Farmersville Aztecs play the Dinuba Trojans in the PeeWee Division II title game. The Tulare Gators and Lemoore Li’l Tigers battle for the PeeWee Division I Championship. It will be a battle of Visalia versus Porterville for the Division I Juniors Championship between the Blazers and Cougars. Then the action ends at 8 p.m. with the Seniors Division I title game between the Lemoore Tigers and Tulare Tarheels.

Tickets are $5. Each game will feature professional announcers. A jumbo-tron will be set up on the south side of the field with large flat screens throughout the stadium. Digital recordings of each game will be available for purchase.
