Monarchs of the Week
Each week, Exeter Union High School coaches will nominate outstanding players in each sport. These players will be featured here in the newspaper as well as at Kirkman’s VIP Pizza. This week’s players are listed below.

Exeter continues their strong start to the season
The team is 6-3 for the season and 3-0 in their league after defeating CVC 1-0 on Friday, Jan. 3. That win was their fourth in a row.
Monarchs and Cavaliers go down to the wire
Exeter fell to CVC 51-48 on Friday, Jan. 3 during their second league match of the season. The Monarchs trailed 42-31 at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Cavs 17-9 in the final period, but the deficit was too large to overcome. They’re now 1-1 in league games with their first win coming against Immanuel.
Monarchs get their second win of the season
Exeter improved to 2-8 for the season after defeating CVC 3-2. It was also their first league win of the year.
Tulare Western begin the season with a 13-4 record
The Mustangs have proven to be one of the teams to beat in the East Yosemite League. They are 6-0 at home and have gotten the job done in a variety of ways. They’ve won 2 games by over 40 points and have won three games by less than three points including an 85-82 overtime victory over El Diamante.
