Monarchs of the Week
Each week, Exeter Union High School coaches will nominate outstanding players in each sport. These players will be featured here in the newspaper as well as at Kirkman’s VIP Pizza. This week’s players are listed below.

Tee Ball:
Tee Ball is open to boys and girls ages 3-4 by Aug. 31. This program uses a soft-core ball for safety and begins to teach the fundamentals of baseball in a non-competitive environment. Games will be played on Tuesday evenings. This is strictly an introduction to baseball. Start date: March 31.
Midget Coach Pitch League Baseball/Softball:
Coach Pitch is open to boys and girls who are 5-6 years old by Aug. 31. This league is a coach pitch league. Players will continue to be taught the fundamentals of the game in a non-competitive environment. Baseball will be play on Thursdays 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Start date: April 2.
Softball will play on Wednesdays 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Start date: April 1.
Intermediate League Baseball/Softball:
Intermediate League is open to boys and girls who are 7-8 years old by Aug. 31.
Nine-year-olds not ready for the next level can play in this league. This league is to prepare players for more competitive baseball/softball. Players will continue to learn the fundamentals of the game. Baseball will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Softball on Mondays and Wednesdays. Baseball start date: March 31. Softball start date: April 1.
Girls Minor and Major League Softball:
Minor and Major League Softball is open to girls ages 9-14 years old by Aug. 31. Number of participants will determine age brackets for each league. Games will be played on Mondays and Thursdays at the Dobson Field Complex. Start date: April 6.
Evaluations will be at the Dobson Complex on March 9 and 10:
- 9-year-olds at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 9
- 10-year-olds at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9
- 11-year-olds at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10
- 12-14-year-olds at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
Fees for all leagues is $55 by February 28 or $65 after February 28. Please be advised that any late signups will be placed only if vacancies arise.
